YouTube star Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson responded to his ‘Hi me in 10 years’ video, where he sent a message to himself and asked if he was still making content.
As MrBeast has scaled the YouTube mountain and become the biggest content creator around, he’s revealed that he has a number of years-old videos just waiting to be uploaded.
These videos, which were made when he was first starting out on YouTube, are messages from his younger self, typically asking if he’d achieved certain milestones and goals. Well, on October 4, he uploaded one from 10 years ago, asking if he’d finally broken 1 million subscribers.
Like with any MrBeast video, the clip has gained plenty of attention from social media, especially as Jimmy revealed that he was almost put off his goal of making YouTube videos by people in high school.

The YouTube superstar responded to his ‘hi me in 10 years’ video where he joked about being married before breaking the million-subscriber mark, and retelling a story about teachers thinking he was “mute” as he stopped talking about YouTube as a youngster.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of YouTube, honestly. I think YouTube just runs in my veins at this point,” he said, addressing his younger self’s question about whether or not he’d stopped.
“I bet you, if you went back in time and told this 17-year-old me that I’d have 440 million subscribers, he wouldn’t believe you. He would laugh! Back then, the biggest channels in the world had like 10 million subscribers, if that.”
Jimmy also revealed that, back in high school, he was told that “no one cared” about his YouTube obsession, which “really hurt” him.
He noted that his confidence has increased tenfold since then, allowing him to become the content creator he is today.
“I’m so glad that young me never gave up. I’m one of the most stubborn people on the planet, even now, to this day!” he added. “If no one watched the videos, I’d still be making them. I decided I was going to be a YouTuber or I was going to die. That was it.”
