A MrBeast video from over 10 years ago has resurfaced on YouTube, and younger Jimmy actually made some pretty spot-on predictions about the platform.
Everyone who has attempted to become a YouTuber has, at some point, uploaded a video that they want the internet to forget about. The majority of these come while they’re much younger and cutting their teeth as a content creator.
However, YouTube megastar Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson actively embraces those early days. Donaldson has shown off his old uploads in new videos and promised to release older videos once he reaches certain milestones on YouTube.
He has, most recently, teased a video of himself from 10 years ago talking to his future self. Yet, while that remains unreleased, there is another decade-old video of his that has captured the attention.
MrBeast’s old YouTube predictions are pretty good
In the aforementioned ‘YouTube in 10 years?????’ video, a younger MrBeast made a number of predictions about where the Google-owned platform might be. And, he wasn’t far off with a lot of them, including one about anti-ad blocking.
“10 years from now, we’ll walk into our kids rooms and we’ll see them watching a FaZe Clan video and we’ll say ‘back in my day, FaZe Clan used to only upload Call of Duty’,” he said in one. “In 10 years, I feel like YouTube will have a lot of the common TV shows and networks we watch on it’s website,” Donaldson added in another, alluding to YouTube TV.
“10 Years from now, I’m going to be famous on YouTube and you’re going to think to yourself, ‘I remember watching this guy back when he had less than 3,000 subscribers, man did this guy’s content suck back then!’” he added.
Donaldson also made predictions about PewDiePie’s subscriber count, claiming he’d have 117 million subs. The Swede is only on 110 million, and has been surpassed by MrBeast, but he wasn’t too far off.
