Korean YouTuber Tzuyang says she required surgery after significantly wearing down her teeth by producing so much mukbang content.

Tzuyang is a popular South Korean YouTuber known for her mukbang videos. She’s amassed an impressive following with 12.7M subscribers on her main channel.

The creator’s videos often receive millions of views and she’s been producing mukbang videos since at least 2020.

However, all that eating has taken a negative effect on her health and Tzuyang revealed the devastating consequences during a vlog on her alternate account.

Korean YouTuber Tzuyang reveals she needed false teeth from eating so much

In her recent video on the way to try a manga cafe’s menu, the creator explained how her teeth were fake.

“My teeth have worn down from eating so much. They’ve become shorter because I use them so much. I looked into it, and they said it’s better to get it done preemptively. They said that if my teeth wear down any further, they’ll have to file them down even more, so I got the procedure done,” she said, according to a translation from Koreaboo.

The YouTuber also made it abundantly clear she didn’t get the surgery done for cosmetic reasons, but rather due to her health.

“I didn’t do it for beauty purposes. It was for health reasons!” she exclaimed. “Comments these days keep saying I had plastic surgery.”

This revelation comes one month after Tzuyang revealed she eats 30,000 calories a day during an appearance on Shin Dong-yup’s show.

Responding to a comment about adult males consuming between 2,000 and 3,000 calories a day, the YouTuber replied that the drinks she consumes have that amount of calories.

Throughout the years, there have been quite a few instances of mukbang creators dying due to health concerns.

Earlier in 2025, Efecan Kultur, a 24-year-old TikTok star from Turkey, died in March from obesity-related health complications months after posting his final eating videos.
