Hundreds of people in Moscow were left stunned after a blazing green fireball lit up the night sky, sparking fresh waves of UFO and alien speculation online.

On October 27, viral footage showed a vivid green orb streaking over Russia’s capital. The glowing object cut through the sky at high speeds before bursting into flames and disappearing behind the clouds.

The striking video, shared across Telegram and X, looked straight out of a sci-fi movie and immediately triggered talk of extraterrestrial visitors.

Russian scientists dismiss claims viral green object is a UFO

Despite the frenzy online, experts are leaning toward a more grounded explanation. Alexander Rodin, head of UAV-related Project Activities at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, said the object is most likely just space debris.

“Judging by the video, the relatively slow speed and its significant slowdown at the end of the visible portion of the flight, as well as the green and yellow shades, rather point to its artificial origin,” Rodin explained.

“Apparently, it’s the so-called space debris, a fragment of a satellite, a carrier rocket booster or an upper stage.”

‘UFO’ sightings have the internet demanding answers

The sighting comes as alien speculation ramps up around 3I/ATLAS, the third confirmed interstellar object to enter our solar system. While NASA insists it’s a comet, some believe it could be alien tech.

Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb has publicly estimated a 40% chance it may be artificial and urged world leaders to prepare for first contact.

“As far as I know, there are no protocols for responding to the discovery of functioning alien devices near Earth,” Loeb told Dexerto. “A visitor in our backyard requires immediate attention because it could enter through the front door and pose an imminent threat.”

Just a month earlier, viral footage from a congressional hearing showed a US Hellfire missile bouncing off a glowing orb, fueling more theories of advanced technology.

Between 3I/ATLAS, military sightings, and now the Moscow fireball, UFO chatter isn’t going away anytime soon. Whether space junk or something stranger, one thing’s clear: people are paying attention and they want to believe.
