While we wait for Single’s Inferno Season 5 to arrive, a brand new Netflix dating show has landed, and it provides a unique spin on the genre. Here’s everyone you need to know in the Better Late Than Single cast.
Single’s Inferno Season 4 was an absolute whirlwind of romance, drama, and swing incidents, with four new couples forming in the finale (although it doesn’t appear any of them are still together).
Casting for Season 5 is now underway, and many viewers have one hope: that less influencers and celebrities join the island. Fans are yearning for the earnest conversations and authentic bonds that formed in the earliest seasons.
This is why Better Late Than Single may be the perfect antidote. The new Netflix series brings lifelong singletons together, giving them makeovers and dating advice in the hope of finding real connections.
Better Late Than Single cast
There are two groups joining the Better Late Than Single cast: the contestants and the hosts. Below, you can find the singletons vying for love:
Noh Jae-yun
As a 27-year-old eternal single, Noh Jae-yun has been unlucky in love. He has a successful job working as a 3D designer, creating and placing 3D images in movies, TV shows, and video games.
He’s never dated before, with his colleague suggesting he may care for other people more than himself. His personal interests include anime, and he has a good sense of humor and plenty of quirks. With a makeover from host Seo In-guk, he’s ready to find love.
Kang Ji-su
As a self-proclaimed “homebody,” 26-year-old Kang Ji-su has never experienced a romantic relationship. Having been to an all-girls school and university, she finds herself nervous around men, so much so that it causes her to worry days before going on a date.
With the help of the cupid experts, she’s hoping to break out of her shell and truly form a lasting bond with one of the fellow contestants.
Kim Seung-li
Kim Seung-li is a 27-year-old eternal single who left Korea in 2017 when his family moved to Brazil, where he stayed for 12 years. Seung-li says he found it difficult to adjust, as he wasn’t able to speak Portuguese for some time.
As such, he was bullied during his earlier years. He also describes the culture difference, saying he’s more reserved when it comes to dating than people in Brazil. During his time there, he got heavily into fitness and playing soccer, allowing him to build his body confidence. Now he’s looking for that missing puzzle piece: confidence in dating.
Kim Yeo-myung
Described as the “sunny bulldozer,” Kim Yeo-myung is bright, happy, and has a good sense of humor. Although she was never that interested in dating, when her friend group turned 26, they all got boyfriends – except her.
Right now, she’s been focusing on fitness and getting healthy, saying she’s “working hard on my glow-up.” Despite being an eternal single, she’s confident and will tell a guy if she has a crush on him.
Kim Sang-ho
Much like other Better Late Than Single cast members, Kim Sang-ho went to a same-sex school, meaning he finds it hard to interact with other women. The 27-year-old studied engineering and carried out the mandatory two-year military service, admitting that all of his peers are men.
In his free time, Sang-ho enjoys karaoke and grabbing a bite to eat with friends, but he says that he “hasn’t really been taking care” of himself of late. This all changed when he signed up to the Netflix show, focusing on fitness and fashion. Now he’s in his prime, he’s ready to find a match.
Lee Min-hong
With Lee Min-hong, the cupid experts weren’t so much tasked with building her confidence but rather changing her high standards. The 28-year-old admits that she’s rejected men over things like how they walk, hold their chopsticks, or even move their eyebrows.
Over the past seven months, she’s been on 20 to 30 blind dates after her mom signed her up to two matchmaking companies as a gift. Only one led to a second date, with Min-hong admitting that she can be a little “blunt” and picky. But she does want to find someone to build a future with, so she’s in the perfect place.
Yi Do
Between her school and her job, Yi Do is a busy woman, and so meeting a romantic partner has been difficult. The 27-year-old currently works at a tutoring company called Etoos where she teaches Korean geography, world geography, and integrated social studies to high school students, and she also studies geography education at Seoul National University.
When she heard about Better Late Than Single, she immediately signed up. During her interview, Do reveals that she was asked to join the cast of the dating show EXchange – she was pretty excited about it, until she realized that she needed an ex-boyfriend to participate.
Ha Jeong-mok
Although he comes across as shy at first, Ha Jeong-mok is quick to come out of his shell, with the hosts pointing out that he’s funny and charming. The reason he signed up for the show is thanks to his twin brother, who urged him to join the cast and find a lasting love.
The 26-year-old used to do everything with his brother, until he got a girlfriend. Jeong-mok wants to experience the same for himself. Although he’s never been kissed, he says he’s open-minded and not picky. His mentor helped him to improve his fashion sense.
Park Ji-yeon
Park Ji-yeon opens up on Better Late Than Single, growing emotional as she describes how she didn’t have the ideal father figure growing up. As a result, she feels she’s pushed men away, fearing that they will be like him. Her trust issues are something she’s looking to overcome, with the team providing the 26-year-old with psychiatrist sessions.
Ji-yeon also went to an all-girls middle school, high school, and university, meaning all of her friends are women. Now, she’s ready to meet her fellow singletons, saying she won’t be leaving single.
Kang Hyun-kyu
As a mixologist, Kang Hyun-kyu knows how to make a good cocktail. But it’s far from his only talent. The 26-year-old is currently studying medicine at Chung-Ang University. While his future looks bright, his studies has left him with no time to focus on finding love.
On top of that, he finds it difficult talking to women. “When I’m interested in a girl, my brain stops working,” he says, admitting that he becomes awkward. Better Late Than Single is the perfect chance to break out of his shell and find love.
