Spielwerk, a new app described by its creator as a “TikTok for mini games,” has launched with a feed of short, user-made titles that can be played, remixed, and shared.
Users can scroll through an endless stream of games created inside the app and compete against friends on high score leaderboards.
Games can be built directly within Spielwerk by describing an idea, with GPT-5 generating a playable version. Creators can refine gameplay mechanics, upload custom image assets, and adjust the design before publishing to the public feed.
Once posted, games can receive likes, comments, and remixes from other users. The app sends notifications when someone interacts with a game or beats its high score.
New gaming app merges creation and distribution
Creator Eike Drescher says the aim is to make sharing “software-as-interactive-content” as simple as posting a TikTok video. Spielwerk combines in-app creation tools with instant distribution, offering a space for users to create and share interactive experiences.
“I believe a new medium is about to emerge. Mini pieces of software, created and shared by anyone as easily as a TikTok video. This new software-as-interactive-content needs a new platform,” he said in a post on X.
“A platform that merges creation with distribution and gives everyone a place where they can create amazing interactive experiences for themselves and for others. This is the big idea behind Spielwerk. Today we’re taking the first step with games.”
Spielwerk is available to download now, with feedback from the community set to guide its development.
