A new Dragon Ball game project titled Age 1000 has been officially announced, with a 2027 release window and a never-before-seen character designed by Akira Toriyama.
Revealed in a post on the official Dragon Ball Games account on X/Twitter, it confirmed that Age 1000 will introduce a brand-new Dragon Ball world alongside entirely original characters.
Central to the reveal is a character personally designed by Toriyama before his death in 2024.
What we know about Dragon Ball Age 1000 so far
According to the announcement, Age 1000 is a new standalone Dragon Ball game project currently in development.
The reveal further describes a new Dragon Ball world brought to life by Akira Toriyama, alongside art depicting a white-haired character wearing Capsule Corp attire.
No platforms or gameplay details have been confirmed, though from a purely speculative standpoint, the accompanying trailer makes me think our new hero will be able to draw their powers from existing characters in some fashion.
What connection, if any, the mystery character has to the likes of Goku and Vegeta isn’t known, but the footage confirms, at the very least, that the unnamed fighter will have the power to go Super Saiyan.
The announcement also states that additional original characters will be introduced as the project continues to develop.
Further updates on Age 1000 are set to be revealed at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour, which takes place in the US on April 18 and 19, 2026.
