Amazon has announced a new reality series based on Fallout, following the success of its live-action adaptation of Bethesda’s iconic franchise.
The unscripted show, titled Fallout Shelter after the mobile game, drops a group of contestants into a Vault-Tec vault, where they will live together and be faced with “escalating challenges, strategic dilemmas, and moral crossroads.” As part of the 10-episode run, the participants will have the chance to win “huge” cash prizes.
In a nod to the games, this includes a series of games that test the S.P.E.C.I.A.L attributes that are a core part of developing your characters: strength, perception, endurance, charisma, intelligence, agility, and luck.
In the announcement post, the creators made it clear that they want to keep as much of the series’ DNA intact, despite this being a completely new spin on the universe.
“The new series will blend large-scale challenges with deeply social, psychological, and narrative-driven gameplay, staying true to the tone, world-building, and choice-driven ethos that have defined Fallout for over 25 years,” it reads.
If you’re a Fallout fanatic and you want to see how you’d fare stuck below the surface, casting is now open.
