Warner Bros. has officially revealed LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight at Gamescom 2025, a brand-new open-world action-adventure title being developed for Nintendo Switch 2.

Players will be able to explore Gotham City using grappling and gliding mechanics, as well as cruise around the streets of the Legofied City in the Batmobile.

Partner characters like Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Robin, and Batgirl have their own gear, while villains such as Joker, Penguin, Bane, and more are confirmed to make appearances.

First new TT Games title since 2022

This marks the first new LEGO Batman release from TT Games since 2022’s The Skywalker Saga, which released to plenty of hype and critical acclaim.

While it remains to be seen if the Caped Crusader’s next Lego outing ends up being as expansive as the latter, the trailer already promises plenty of humor and several iconic Batman villains to have starring roles.

The announcement included a trailer revealed during Gamescom, emphasizing an evolved LEGO experience built around exploration and dynamic movement.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is scheduled for release on Switch 2 in 2026. There’s been no announcement regarding any other platforms or the voice actors for each character, though some fans are insistent that Bane sounds a lot like Matt Berry. But nothing has been confirmed yet.
