New Pokemon merch is out but it’s not at all what you think

A company in Japan has just launched Pokemon-themed medical wear, featuring some of the most iconic characters.

As a pop culture phenomenon, Pokemon has often been known for its endless supply of new merchandise. Adorable plushies, keychains, or even gaming peripherals are just a few of the things that come to mind.

But have you ever wondered what it would look like if you mixed Pokemon with the medical field? Turns out a Japanese company named Classico has the answer.

As spotted by Sora News, this company has released a Pokemon-themed medical apparel line. And no, these aren’t just regular shirts, but they are actually for professionals, focusing on functionality and comfort with premium materials.

There’s Pokemon-themed medical wear that doctors can use

Classico’s newest lineup of Pokemon medical apparel brings its first-ever Pokemon-themed doctor coat. Its design features a silhouette of Pikachu on the left sleeve just before the cuff.

Meanwhile, on the front left pocket, the Gen 1 starters, which consist of Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander, can be seen walking across the fabric.

Other details in the coat also include Poke Ball-shaped buttons and a pattern on the lining fabric. 

Previously, the medical apparel brand has also launched Pokémon-themed scrubs, with Eevee and Snorlax being the newest additions to their designs. These also come with matching pants, which have been redesigned based on customers’ feedback.

It turns out that customers weren’t pleased with the mons’ design that used to be on the pants’ backside, which wouldn’t be visible when you sit down. So, the redesigned version has them placed at the front instead.

Those looking to snag these clothes will, of course, spend more compared to just getting a regular shirt.

The coat costs 32,890 yen, equivalent to US$223, while the scrub top and pants cost 11,990 yen or US$81 each. 

These are technically available to people from all walks of life, so you don’t exactly need to be a doctor to wear one. Though they were clearly designed with medical professionals in mind.
