A new crowdfunding campaign in Japan is taking aim at one of the most persistent stereotypes in the trading card game scene – poor hygiene.

A Japanese cosmetics brand (OFF-KAi!!) has launched a project to develop an all-in-one body and hair wash specifically for card gamers. As reported by Automaton, the product is called Okite Sugu No Okite and is designed to simplify morning routines while helping players stay fresh during long tournament days.

The concept came from the manager of a salon who has over 13 years of experience in the card game space. After witnessing what he described as the recurring “smell problem” at competitive venues, he set out to create a product that could both promote better cleanliness habits among TCG players.

The shampoo targets common hygiene concerns like oiliness, dryness, and body odor, and functions as a one-step cleanser for hair, face, and skin. According to the product’s official description, the shampoo was “born to dispel negative impressions from the card game world and create a comfortable card gamer lifestyle.”

As reported by denfaminicogamer, the project is currently seeking ¥2 million ($13,500 USD) via the crowdfunding platform Campfire and will run until September 20th.
