It’s been over 10 years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released, with the brilliant Blood and Wine DLC celebrating its decade anniversary in 2026, and there’s a slim chance that we’re getting more next year.
Rumors first started swirling earlier this year, when Polish leaker Borys Nieśpielak claimed a new Witcher 3 DLC is in development. It’s allegedly being developed by Fool’s Theory, a Polish studio currently working on the Witcher 1 Remake.
As reported by PCGamesN, the leaker expected the new DLC to be revealed at The Game Awards, which never happened, but it’s not the last we’ve heard about it.
New Witcher 3 expansion expected in May 2026
Keeping the rumor mill churning, Mateusz Chrzanowski, a Polish analyst at Noble Securities, said he expects a paid add-on for The Witcher 3 in May 2026.
He said (translated from Polish), “We expect another paid add-on (DLC) for The Witcher 3 to be released in May 2026. We anticipate sales of 11 million copies at USD 30 each next year. We estimate the production budget at PLN 52 million. The release should kick off the actual marketing campaign for The Witcher 4.”
If the analyst’s prediction is correct, we’ll be getting one more paid expansion for The Witcher 3 that’s set to bridge the gap between games.
Not only that, but the analyst also expects The Witcher 4 to be released in the fourth quarter of 2027. CD Projekt Red said, “We do not plan to release The Witcher 4 by the end of 2026,” and 2027 falls into the admittedly massive release window.
We do know that The Witcher 3 will get “one more patch” in 2026, adding cross-platform mod support to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It was originally scheduled for 2025, but was pushed back to 2026.
But of course, a new Witcher DLC coming 11 years after the original game’s launch is all just rumors and speculation for now, so you should take it all with a huge grain of salt.
