Nuketown is one of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty history, and it’s set to return once again in Black Ops 7.

The next entry in the series arrives with 16 maps, including a mix of new battlegrounds and old favorites. But as we know, launch day is only the beginning, and we’ll be getting plenty of new additions over the course of the game’s lifecycle.

These will mostly be introduced as part of seasonal updates, but Treyarch are giving Black Ops’ signature map its own moment in the sun.

When does Nuketown 2025 come to Black Ops 7?

During the CoD Next event, the devs confirmed that Nuketown will be added shortly after launch. Although they didn’t commit to a specific date, it’s due before the Season 1 update, which is expected in December.

So, given that Black Ops 7 releases on November 14, it should only be a week or two before the map gets added to the rotation.

This is very similar to how Black Ops 6 handled the map. Although it was missing from the launch lineup, it was added on November 1, just one week later.

Once out, it will automatically be added to the rotation for all eligible game modes. However, don’t be surprised to see a Nuketown 24/7 playlist, which guarantees you’ll play it, released as well, to celebrate the return of the popular map.

This will continue Nuketown’s run of being included in every game in the Black Ops series, after first appearing in the original all the way back in 2010.

It underwent many revamps in that time, from a futuristic aesthetic in Black Ops 3 to a derelict version in BOCW. But after BO6 remastered the original, and given that the new game takes plenty of cues from Black Ops 2, it’s no surprise that this will be an upgraded version of Nuketown 2025.
