A new Bigfoot sighting in Pennsylvania has been deemed “sincere and credible” by an investigator with the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, after multiple witnesses reported seeing a dark, human-like figure crossing Interstate 80.
According to WTAJ, the eyewitness was a retired civil engineer and Air Force veteran who spotted the creature around 5:30 p.m. on October 4 near mile marker 169, just northeast of Bellefonte. He told investigators the figure appeared larger than a man, with a distinct head and shoulders towering over the car in front of him.
The witness said what “shook” him most was the creature’s movement, fast but smooth, as if “gliding” across the highway. It reportedly crossed four lanes in about three seconds before vanishing into the woods without climbing the guardrail. “What the h*ll is he doing?! He’s going to get hit,” the man recalled saying as it stepped onto the road.
Two other people also claimed to have seen something that day, including a longtime hunter who insisted, “This was not a bear.” The BFRO report placed the sighting roughly 11.5 miles from Bald Eagle State Park, near a forested ridgeline that connects to Nittany Mountain — a region often cited by enthusiasts as potential Bigfoot territory.
The organization classified the account as “Class A,” meaning it involved a clear visual observation. Investigators said the primary witness was considered credible based on his background and demeanor.
