One Piece Chapter 1149 reveals a sinister secret about one of the God’s Knights, so here’s what to expect.
The Elbaf Arc has left the giants and the Straw Hats in a vulnerable position. After invading the country, the three God’s Knights – Gunko, Sommers, and Killingham – have kidnapped 10 giant children, planning to use them as leverage to force Elbaf into submitting to the World Government.
In Chapter 1148, the trio threatened to kill the children if the giants didn’t burn their library, destroying every piece of information about the Void Century. However, Robin and Gaban interrupted just in time.
While Sommers subdued Robin, Gaban gave him a tough competition. Their fight continues in Chapter 1149, which also brings back one of the most important characters in the story.

One Piece Chapter 1149 spoilers
Titled ‘One Second’, One Piece Chapter 1149 picks up right where the previous chapter left off. Gaban’s fight with Sommers continues. He uses Haki on his axes to cut the Knight’s body so that he stays alive but can’t regenerate anymore.
To stop him, Gunko threatens to kill Colon if Gaban doesn’t surrender. Gaban does just that to save his son, only to be stabbed by Gunko and thrown off the tree.
A flashback of Brook’s past reveals he used to know Gunko before he became a pirate, indicating that she has been alive for a long time and hasn’t aged since. Gunko suddenly regains control of her mind and tries to free Brook.
However, before she succeeds, Imu takes control of her body. The mysterious ruler of the world is furious with the God’s Knights for taking so much time. With them gone, the Holy Land of Mary Geoise is under attack and currently burning. It’s unclear who the attackers are, but the scale of the attack, it’s probably the Revolutionary Army.
One Piece Chapter 1149 ends with Imu’s words: “Imu will show how a god rules over the world.”
