One Piece Chapter 1157 reveals more about the past era of pirates, so here’s what you need to know.
The flashback of the Elbaf Arc sheds light on a lot of unknown facts about the past era. This includes how King Harald became a peaceful ruler, his meeting with the infamous Rocks D. Xebec, and the formation of the Rocks Pirates.
We also see Roger and his crew in their youth and their relationship with the Kuja Pirates. While Gloriossa was the captain of the crew at that time, it was Shakuyaku – aka Shakky – who was the real star. Every man, including Roger, fell for her beauty, though she only had eyes for Rayleigh.
The flashback also unveils Rocks’ plan to obtain two legendary Devil Fruits and the mythical Galleila giants. What happens after that will be revealed in Chapter 1157.

Titled ‘Legendary Bar’, One Piece Chapter 1157 follows the event of the previous chapter. The cover page shows Yamato visiting the grave of a hero who died fighting Kaido.
Rocks Pirates was the most infamous crew of that time, consisting of hardened criminals. However, there was no unity among them; everyone tried to betray each other. We learn of the many crimes they committed.
Elsewhere, King Harald saved one of Elbaf’s allied countries from the World Government’s agents. This damages the relationship between the World Government and Elbaf. Rocks returned to Elbaf once again, trying to convince Harald to join his crew. However, the king refused again. Prince Loki was secretly spying on the whole exchange.
In the Marine headquarters, Garp asked Kong to allow the giants to join the navy forces, as they need their strength. However, Kong revealed that only the World Government has the authority to do that. The two also discussed the growing power of Rocks.
The next scene shows Shakky arriving on Hachinosu. She’d quit the Kuja Pirates and come to the pirate island to set up a bar. She soon became popular among the pirates there, with everyone, including Rocks and Whitebeard, falling in love with her. Her bar eventually became legendary in reputation, and people started calling her the ‘treasure of Hachinosu’.
The ending of One Piece Chapter 1157 takes place in Mary Geoise. The Gorosei sent a message to Harald, asking him to kill Rocks in exchange for allowing Elbaf to join the World Government.
