Emma Stone’s newest film, ‘Bugonia,’ is hitting theaters soon, but a special advanced screening before its official release is reserved specifically for bald viewers only.

‘Bugonia,’ coming to theaters on October 24, is a comedic horror-thriller that follows the story of Michelle Fuller (Emma Stone), the CEO of a major pharmaceutical company who is kidnapped by two conspiracy theorists that are convinced she’s really an alien.

The film is actually an English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean movie ‘Save the Green Planet!’ by director Jang Joon-hwan, which was received favorably and even boasts an 88% positive review score on Rotten Tomatoes.

While the jury’s still out on whether or not Bugonia will receive the same cult-classic status as its predecessor, it’s already leaning into the quirkiness of the original with a humorous screening designed for a very specific audience.

(Warning: Slight spoilers ahead for Bugonia.)

This theater will shave your head if you want to see Bugonia early

Early on in Bugonia, Emma Stone’s head is shaved by her kidnappers. This act is a key plot device that serves as symbolism for her dehumanization at the hands of her captors and the reinforcement of their beliefs that she’s not actually human.

In a hilarious and somewhat frightening marketing ploy, Bugonia is getting an advanced screening at the Culver Theater in Culver City, California — but viewers can only participate if they’re bald.

If someone comes in with a full head of hair, the theater will have a barber on-site to shave it for them so they can watch. The entire screening is free for hairless audiences and starts at 8 PM PT, but the barber will set up shop at 6 PM for anyone who needs a cut.

The screening is first-come, first serve, and it’s totally free (minus shaving your head, of course). However, if anyone with hair does choose to get the big chop, it looks like it’ll be worth it, as early reviews are largely positive.

In fact, it’s listed as 91% fresh out of 77 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics hailing the movie as “pure cinema” and a poignant commentary on the current state of affairs in society.
