One of Warzone’s most overlooked weapons is actually “overpowered” at long range and has a lightning-fast TTK that might make you rethink things.

Whenever new weapon updates have hit Warzone, the battle royale’s meta typically shifts. We’ve seen small shifts and massive overhauls at times; it just depends on the significance of the buffs and nerfs.

Season 4 Reloaded’s main update did bring about a few changes, but there have been additional rounds of weapon balancing that have prompted some others as well. The likes of the DM-10 and TR2 have had their TTKs completely destroyed in recent changes.

Those updates have, however, been good news for the XMG. Yes, the LMG that a lot of players stay away from is actually one of the fastest-killing guns in the battle royale, especially at long range.

XMG is Warzone’s best long-range gun now

It was something that Warzoen guru WhosImmortal flagged on July 20, noting that the XMG is “overpowered” in fights at the longer distances.

“LMGs are typically not a fan-favorite. They’re a little bit slower, little bit heavier, and the XMG is that. The XMG is also a powerhouse,” the YouTuber said, noting that it has an “insane” TTK beyond 50 metres.

The LMG’s power doesn’t drop off until after the 90 metre range, but you’re not taking fights there anyway. “This thing melts, and its one of the easiest weapons to use in the entire game,” he added.

WhosImmortal concluded that “the XMG is a beast right now,” but it isn’t on the radar of too many players. CODMunity has it down as a 0.2% pick, lagging behind the recently nerfed Krig C.

The good thing is that there’s no real trick to extract the best out of the OP LMG. Sure, you’ll use eight attachments, but you can swap a few out depending on personal preference.
