Outdoor Boys creator Luke Nichols may have stepped away from YouTube for now, but fans don’t have to wait for his return to see new outdoor adventures, as his son continues to post regularly on his own channel.
The channel, called Outdoor Tom, features Nichols’ son creating his own projects, often with Luke appearing alongside him. The videos follow a similar formula to Outdoor Boys, with camping, fishing, and survival builds filmed in the same detailed, family-friendly style.
Nichols announced in May that Outdoor Boys would be going on an indefinite hiatus, citing his rapid growth and the effect that attention has had on his family. “The sheer volume of fans trying to contact me, trying to take pictures with me, or just trying to come up to me and talk in public can be a bit overwhelming at times,” he said when explaining the decision.
Outdoor Tom’s channel is growing
He also mentioned that all three of his sons want to be YouTubers, and that he plans to help them grow their own channels while taking a step back from his own. Outdoor Tom is the clearest example of that plan, with new uploads continuing even as the main Outdoor Boys channel remains inactive.
Outdoor Tom currently has almost 1.6 million subscribers and nearly 60 million total views as of November 2025, showing that the audience has followed Nichols’ family content to the next generation.
