Overwatch’s roster of heroes is set to grow drastically in the coming year, and fans are convinced they’ve worked out the identity of one of the upcoming characters.
During the Overwatch Spotlight event, it was revealed that five new heroes are being added to the game at once. Domina, Emre, Mizuki, Anran, and even Jetpack Cat are all arriving with the Season 1 update on February 10.
But that’s not all, as Blizzard also teased that a total of 10 heroes would arrive in 2026. Although the names of these five additional characters weren’t confirmed, there were a number of clues littered throughout the stream.
Now, fans think they’ve worked out exactly who one of the missing heroes is going to be — D.Mon.
OW players convinced D.Mon is coming in Season 4
For those uninitiated, D.Mon was first shown in the Shooting Star animated short back in 2018, which explored D.Va’s origin story. She served in the Mobile Exo-Force of the Korean Army (MEKA) alongside D.Va, and also pilots her own powerful mech named Beast.
Players spotted a character on the screens in the background of the Spotlight stream who appeared to be controlling a mech with a very similar design to D.Mon.
Stronger evidence can be found on the official roadmap for 2026, where the silhouette of the hero planned for Season 4 appears to feature the same energy sword. Reddit user ‘rockoburger’ shared a post breaking down the similarities.
Although Blizzard is yet to confirm whether or not this hero is D.Mon, it would be in-keeping with the approach we’ve seen to this new era of Overwatch. Of the five new characters that have been revealed, three of them have been plucked directly from OW lore, with Emre, Anran, and Domina all appearing in past cinematics for different characters.
So, it does seem that Blizzard is looking to build out the universe by adding characters we’ve seen before, as well as some completely new faces.
