Blizzard has officially announced Overwatch Rush, a brand new mobile game set in the Overwatch universe.
The new game was officially announced on February 24 and is a top-down hero shooter built specifically for mobile devices.
According to the official reveal, Overwatch Rush is being developed by a dedicated team at Blizzard that’s separate from Team 4.
While characters like Reinhard, Mercy, Tracer, and co. are featured in the new game, it will perform very differently from the third-person action seen in regular Overwatch.

Blizzard also addressed the early state of the project, saying: “While there remains a lot of work to do, we’re eager to see how players enjoy what we’ve built so far, and to hear from them on what we should focus on in the coming phases of development.”
The studio added, “Our mission is to continue to expand the Overwatch universe by bringing fresh new adventures to players across all platforms. We’ll continue to keep you updated on how things are progressing.”
While no release date has been announced, devs are preparing for testing Overwatch Rush in select countries and regions.
