A new Overwatch crossover with NieR: Automata has leaked online, revealing a set of themed skins based on Square Enix and PlatinumGames’ popular action-RPG.
Images and clips taken from a YouTube short uploaded by Blizzard suggest the collaboration will feature several skins themed after a handful of NieR characters.
While no official release date for the collaboration has been given, reputable X/Twitter account, Overwatch Cavalry, states that players can expect it to drop on March 10.
Leaked Overwatch x NieR skins revealed
According to the leaked material, the crossover is expected to include skins for Mercy, Kiriko, Wuyang, Lifeweaver, and Vendetta, each inspired by characters from NieR: Automata.
The designs appear to be based on YoRHa androids, the elite combat units central to NieR’s story, with characters such as 2B, A2 and 9S represented through the hero skins.
The collaboration is rumored to arrive alongside a mid-season update expected in early March, although Blizzard has not yet formally announced the event.
Blizzard has ramped up collaborative events for its hero shooter following the sequel’s rebranding to drop the 2 from its title. These new NieR skins, whenever they drop, will follow the game’s Hello Kitty crossover in February as well as a Persona 5 tie-in from back in 2025.
