The Peacemaker Season 2 finale will include multiple alternate dimensions – and, going by the trailer for Episode 8, the DCU may be about to get its own version of Marvel Zombies.
There are at least 100 other universes within the Quantum Unfolding Chamber. So far, we’ve seen a non-verbal alien from one of them and a world where the Nazis won World War II.
Now, after Episode 7, Rick Flag and co. are in possession of Peacemaker’s dimensional portal. This is almost certainly setting up Man of Tomorrow, but we’ll also get to see a few more worlds in the Season 2 finale.
The trailer for Episode 8 teases some strange dimensions; one has giant candy canes in the ground like trees, and another has giant skull spiders. However, there’s a glimpse of another world that could be very interesting for fans of the comics.
Peacemaker Season 2 finale trailer sets up ‘DCeased’
At the 0:21 mark in the trailer for the Peacemaker Season 2 finale, two people in red hazmat suits can be seen getting dragged back into the QUC. They appear to be getting chased by someone, who’s making rather monstrous sounds, and there’s a nearby fire too.
Take this with a grain of salt, as there could be another explanation, but fans believe this dimension could be adapting 2019’s DCeased storyline.
In the comics, Darkseid kidnaps Cyborg and tries to extract the Anti-Life Equation from his body. Unfortunately, this inadvertently creates a virus that transforms people into zombies, known as the Anti-Living, and several DC characters end up becoming infected.
So, if this comes to pass, it’s possible we could get some DCU cameos in zombie form. Also, it’s worth remembering that James Gunn wrote 2004’s Dawn of the Dead remake (directed by Zack Snyder), and it was one of his earliest scripts, so it’d be a fun way to come full circle.
“DCeased is literally my favorite storyline, I would go crazy,” one user commented. “Marvel Zombies got some spotlight now it’s time for DCeased to shine,” another wrote.
“If we get to see the DCeased live-action version in this lifetime, I would go nuts,” a third wrote. “First Earth X and now DCeased? James Gunn is really showing some of the worst Earths to live in,” a fourth posted.
