Peak has had a brand new update, adding various new languages, a new setting to allow you more field of vision when climbing, and… cannibalism?

Yep, you heard that right, Peak, the co-operative chaotic climbing game, has officially added cannibalism, meaning you can quite literally eat your friends if your character gets hungry enough.

Climbing is hungry work, and whether you’re looking for the adorable Capybaras or grabbing the many items like the Cursed Skull or Magic Beans, you’ll need to bring some food along with you. However, that’s not always easy to get. Well, that was until you could just use your friend instead.

Peak finally adds cannibalism after fan demands

Essentially, as per the update, if your character gets hungry enough, then the other players will begin to look like cooked turkeys to you, letting you eat them if you choose to.

As revealed by players, you need to be at 60% hunger in order for your friends to begin looking like turkeys. Of course, this will kill that player, and may not go down too well if you’re near completion… at least once they’ve stopped laughing.

This is actually a feature fans have been wanting for a while now, and they’re absolutely thrilled to see it making an appearance.

Many shared the update on social media, claiming “The new Peak update is wild” and sharing a picture of their turkey-fied friend, with some rather tasteful sunglasses.

“This is amazing,” wrote another fan, while others suggested that a new badge needs to be added alongside the feature: “I could see getting eaten being a badge. Something like ‘supporting your friends?'”

Whether a new achievement will be added is yet to be revealed by Landfall, but one thing is clear, there’s about to be so much more chaos happening in Peak. Just watch out for your friends, or eat them, it’s completely up to you.
