Developers of the hit indie co-op climbing game Peak have lashed out at people making copies of their game on other platforms, slamming them as “slop” and asking players to pirate their game instead.
Peak has taken over the indie gaming scene, breaking player count records and amassing a huge player base in such a short time. However, alongside popularity comes a slew of copies, with various developers looking to capitalize on the climbing game.
However, it seems Aggro Crab, the game’s developers, have had enough and are now brutally calling out these copies.
Studio calls out “Roblox slop ripoff” of Peak
In a post on X, Aggro Crab shared an image of a Roblox copy of Peak known as Cliff (you can see the similarity). In it, they explained that they “would rather you pirate our game than play this icrotransaction-riddled Roblox slop ripoff.”
One of the main issues Aggro Crab is facing right now is the demand for the game to come to consoles. Players who can only experience games on consoles are left unable to play, likely leading many to head to these “ripoffs.”
However, in the comments of the post, the studio did explain that they want to bring the game to console, so it’ll likely be coming soon.
Interestingly, many of the game’s fans agreed with the statement, commenting, “I’d rather just pay the extremely reasonable $8 it costs for one of the best co-op games I’ve ever played, but that’s just me.”
Peak’s cost is much less than the average price of games at the moment, meaning many fans are more than happy to buy the original game.
Others are calling for Aggro Crab to appeal to Roblox to “ban the game and the group” or “copyright strike the game,” though as of the time of writing, Cliff is still active on Roblox.
