The lineup for London’s FrightFest 2025 has been revealed, and comedian Pete Davidson’s eagerly anticipated horror movie The Home will open the festival.
If you like horror, you’ll love FrightFest, a genre and fantasy film festival that’s been playing to packed houses for 25 years.
The five-day extravaganza of weird and wonderful features and shorts is returning to Odeon LUXE cinemas in Leicester Square, and showcasing films from all over the world.
They include a ridiculously violent superhero movie, the world premiere of a very special restoration, and a comedy legend turning his hand to horror…
The Toxic Avenger is playing FrightFest, and The Descent returns
FrightFest is showcasing 69 features in August, the first of which is The Home, a horror movie from the creators of The Purge, that pits former SNL star Pete Davidson against evil forces at an old people’s home.
The Toxic Avenger will also receive its UK premiere at the festival, and this star-studded reboot of the twisted Troma movie features the likes of Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, and as the title character, Peter Dinklage.
The Descent became an instant classic when it premiered at FrightFest 20 years ago, and this year writer-director Neil Marshall is back with a brand-new 4k version of the movie, while he’ll also be appearing at the FrightFest screening alongside members of the cast.
Other highlights include Joe Begos and Eli Roth collaboration Jimmy and Stiggs, Simon Rumley’s eagerly anticipated thriller Crushed, a documentary about A Serbian Film titled A Serbian Documentary, and Samara Weaving’s new horror movie Borderline.
Speaking about this year’s line-up, festival co-director Alan Jones says: “FrightFest in its 26th year remains the UK’s Number One destination for genre fans. The 2025 event will be epic in every sense, celebrating the inventive, transgressive, and diverse.”
