Streamer Pirate Software bit back at a viewer who suggested he should make an apology video over ongoing controversies, including being against the Stop Killing Games movement.
The Stop Killing Games movement started back in April 2024 by YouTuber Ross Scott – better known as AccursedFarms. It has one goal: to stop publishers from ‘killing’ games after developer support has stopped.
There have been plenty of supporters of the movement, with big names like PewDiePie, Asmongold, and JackSepticEye putting their names to the petition. There have also been a few critics as well.
Pirate Software has been the most vocal of those against the movement. The game developer and Twitch streamer stated that it was “too vague” in its aims. He also stopped working with Ludwig’s OffBrand Games studio as Rivals of Aether 2 was review-bombed over his stance.
Pirate Software won’t make an apology video
He has addressed some of the controversy around him, but has no plans to apologize – even if some viewers believe that it will stop some of the “unhinged” behaviour against him.
“Put up a video saying you were wrong with every situation and the internet will move on? I am not doing that,” Hall said. “I don’t give a f*ck.
“Yeah, simply bend the knee and lie about how you feel, and everyone will stop bullying you! That’s a great idea, dude. Yeah, no, eat s*it.”
The streamer has been swatted over his take and “had tens of thousands of death threats,” calling the behavior towards him and his moderation team “unhinged.”
He has also lost more than 100,000 YouTube subscribers in the last few weeks as viewers have turned their backs on him.
Stop Killing Games has surpassed its goal of hitting 1 million signatures, but there is no words if the European Commission will pass a law to ensure that online games are preserved.
