Japanese manufacturer Bandai Namco has a new line of collectible “food toys” that turns classic PlayStation hardware into mini charms, complete with themed biscuits to snack on.
Fitting to the theme, the biscuits are stamped with the iconic PlayStation controller symbols, circle, triangle, cross, and square, along with the PS logo.
And if you’re wondering about the taste, one post on X describes them as “pretty tasty vanilla wafers.”
While the collection was first revealed in 2025, it has only just started popping up in supermarkets and convenience stores across Japan.
PlayStation mini charm snacks now hitting Japanese stores
There are 11 designs in total in the lineup, each measuring about 3 cm. Before anyone calls dibs, though, they’re completely random, so you won’t know which one you’re getting.
They’re packaged like blind boxes, with one “secret” design hiding in the mix. Each one also goes for ¥350 (roughly $2.25 USD).
Here’s what’s been officially revealed so far:
- PlayStation
- PlayStation 2
- PlayStation Controller
- Black DUALSHOCK 2 Controller
- Crystal DUALSHOCK Controller
- Ceramic White DUALSHOCK 2 Controller
- Memory Card for PlayStation
- Memory Card for PlayStation 2
- PlayStation Family logo
- PocketStation
It surely didn’t take long for the secret design to surface online. Mark Julio on X was lucky enough to pull the rare charm, which turns out to be a PocketStation featuring the iconic Toro Cat character on its screen.
For those unfamiliar, Toro is a white cat who first appeared in Doko Demo Issyo back in 1999 and has since become one of PlayStation’s mascots.
It’s unclear if these food toys will ever make it to the West at the time of writing.
