Pokemon is finally getting its very own theme park, with PokePark Kanto offering the first permanent outdoor Pokemon attraction we’ve ever had, and it looks adorable, but fans aren’t happy.

Announced during Pokemon Presents, after being teased back in 2023, it was revealed that a brand-new theme park was arriving, all centered around Pokemon.

The 26,000 square meters of land will house various different ‘Mons, familiar locations, the occasional ride, and plenty of open space to meet or catch ’em all.

PokePark Kanto will be located in Inagi City, Tokyo, and sits inside Japan’s Yomiuriland amusement park, perfect for those who want more thrills as well as the calming PokePark.

PokePark Kanto finally brings Pokemon to life

As revealed during Pokemon Presents, PokePark Kanto will feature an adorable Pokemon Forest as well as Sedge Town, which feels extremely similar to Geosenge Town in Kalos.

Fans will be able to see Pokemon in their natural habitats, as what look to be statues dotted around the forest itself. Then, you can explore Sedge Town, a location said to contain “trainers and Pokemon” alike. Whether you’ll be able to interact with them is yet to be seen.

What’s more, in the map we do see a few Pokemon-themed rides, meaning there’s plenty more coming along.

PokePark Kanto will be unveiled in early 2026, with ticket sales planned to begin in late 2025.

However, while the park does look adorable, fans were extremely disappointed, with many assuming the announcement was for PokePark, the video game made for the Wii that was last released in 2011.

“They trolled us crazy, we want PokePark 3 on Switch 2,” wrote one user on X, while another echoed the sentiment, “Awww I thought it was a new Pokemon Pokepark game…. Dreams crushed.”

Unfortunately, we aren’t getting a new Pokepark game anytime soon, and if you want to experience the new park, you’ll need to head all the way to Japan.
