The Pentagon has reportedly installed a Pokemon card vending machine inside its main food court after photos of the unit circulated online in late January.

The claims first surfaced through a Reddit post on the r/army subreddit, where users shared images of what appeared to be a Pokemon-themed “loot box” style machine offering sealed packs and mystery items.

The post said the machine was installed in mid December and was located in the primary dining area used by Pentagon employees and visitors.

The unusual placement quickly drew attention across social platforms, with commenters questioning why a collectible card vending machine had appeared inside the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense.

Photos spark online discussion about the vending machine

Images shared online show the machine stocked with Pokemon-branded products and positioned among other food court fixtures. The post that triggered the discussion described the unit as expensive and marketed around the chance of receiving rare cards.

The “Lucky Box” features a CGC 10 Charizard card graphic on the side of it, but the massive screen on the vending machine makes it clear that it offers more than just Pokemon cards.
