Pokemon Go has added up to 400 extra item storage slots for players after its major leveling update left many Trainers unable to collect new items. The change was announced on November 5 via the game’s official X account.

The boost follows widespread reports of overfilled inventories after the October 15 leveling update, which raised the level cap from 50 to 80 and adjusted XP requirements.

As part of the rollout, players received rewards for every level gained during the update, with some receiving thousands of items at once.

Pokemon Go adds bag space to fix overflow issues

“Hi, Trainers! In appreciation of our Trainer community, level-up rewards now include room for an additional 400 items in your Item Bag! These upgrades have been granted according to your level,” Pokémon Go said on X.

The sudden influx of Poke balls, potions, and other items pushed many item bags past their max capacity. With no space left, Trainers were unable to spin Poke Stops or open gifts until they manually cleared space, even if they had previously purchased storage upgrades.

Now, with the new bag expansion tied directly to Trainer level, players can immediately hold more items without spending coins. Trainers can log in to see how much additional storage they’ve received.
