Pokemon Go’s Link Charges are a vital new feature that allows you to access some pretty powerful Raids for those meta Pokemon. Here’s all you need to know.

Whether it’s adding new Pokemon, extra Raids to the schedule, more Timed Research, or just refreshing Giovanni’s lineup, Pokemon Go is always changing to keep players on their toes. Well, they’ve officially introduced two new features, Super Mega Raids and Link Charges.

These two additions are pretty linked, meaning you need to understand what Link Charges are and how to get them before you can fully take part in Super Mega Raids. So, here’s all you need to know about Link Charges.

Link Charges are items you need to enter a Mega Raid or a Super Mega Raid in Pokemon Go.

Think of them like a current to pay for entry. For example, if you attend a Mega Raid in person, it’ll cost you 150 Link Charges. However, we recommend you save your Link Charges for the Super Mega Raids.

If you don’t have enough Link Charges, you can still enter these raids, but you’ll need to use a Premium Battle Pass instead. So you can also think of Link Charges as a way to save on using those Battle Passes, too.

There are four ways for you to get Link Charges in Pokemon Go:

  • Buying them in the shop
  • Completing weekly challenges
  • Opening Gifts
  • Attending meetups through the Campfire app

While it will cost money, you can buy them in the Shop using PokeCoins. 200 Link Charges will cost 100 PokeCoins, and 600 Link Charges will cost 300 PokeCoins.

There are plenty of weekly challenges that reward you with Link Charges. Completing them with a group will let you grab as many as you can, so we recommend you take part if you’re looking for more Link Charges.

Opening Gifts is also a great way to bag some extra Link Charges. It’s not completely reliable, and you won’t get them every day, but it’s a good habit to have if you’re looking for more items.

Lastly, if you have a group you like to meet up with through the Campfire app, you can also bag some Link Charges through that.
