The Pokemon Company gave players a deeper look into Mega Dimension, the first major DLC for Pokemon Legends Z-A, which is bringing one of the boldest changes the series has ever attempted.

For the first time in the franchise’s history, trainers will face enemies that exceed the traditional Lv. 100 cap, pushing Legends Z-A’s endgame into a completely new territory.

The expansion, which officially launches on December 10, 2025, is also packed with fresh story details, new zones, and two unexpected Mega Evolutions.

Mega Dimension is breaking Pokemon history

According to the DLC’s latest trailer, Mega Dimension continues the story after Z-A’s main campaign and transports players into Hyperspace Lumiose, a distorted version of the Kalos capital shaped by Hoopa’s dimensional rifts.

This twisted city is built specifically around tougher encounters, and that includes the new hyper-level Pokemon that dominate the area. These opponents aren’t just stronger versions; they’re designed to scale above the conventional limit, creating battles that demand new strategies, new builds, and far more preparation than anything in the base game.

However, while enemies can appear with higher levels, players will have to use special Donuts that temporarily boost their Level when in Hyperspace. These are made using regular and special Berries, and each will have a determined duration.

As previously shown, Raichu will receive two Mega Evolutions (X & Y), making it the third Pokemon to have dual forms alongside Charizard and Mewtwo. But that’s not all, Baxcalibur and Chimecho will also receive new Mega forms, and many known creatures from Kalos will also be added to the game.

With over-level-100 opponents, dual Mega forms, warped environments, and a completely new city to explore, Mega Dimension looks set to transform Legends Z-A’s late game and keep players engaged.
