A Pokemon Legends Z-A player has accidentally released one of the game’s rarest hidden Pokemon, and it turns out many fans are making the same mistake without realizing it.
Reddit user HulloItsCassie shared their experience on the r/PokemonZA subreddit, explaining that they unknowingly released a special Spewpa gifted to players after completing the Museum side mission. “So, did everyone know this? I thought I released the other one in my boxes, but… nope,” they wrote. “I missed out on the blue one and I am distraught.”
The post has since gained traction online, with many players realizing they may have made the same error. The reason? This specific Spewpa is the only one in the game that evolves into a blue Marine Pattern Vivillon, every other Spewpa found in the wild becomes a pink Meadow Pattern Vivillon instead.
Hidden treasure disguised as an ordinary Spewpa
Because the game never makes clear that the Museum’s Spewpa gift is unique, many players have accidentally released it while clearing their storage boxes or completing Mable’s Research tasks, which require catching multiples of the same type.
Even competitive players have been caught off guard. Pro player CBADgg tweeted, “WHAT DO YOU MEAN I RELEASED THE SINGLE, LONE SPEWPA THAT GIVES YOU THE ONLY OTHER VIVILLON PATTERN IN THE GAME.”
The discovery has sparked widespread discussion among the Legends ZA community, with players warning others to check their boxes before it’s too late. As it stands, the Museum Spewpa remains the only way to obtain the elusive blue Marine Pattern Vivillon, making it one of the game’s most easily missed treasures.
