Pokemon scalper under fire for bringing a child along while grabbing cards

A Pokemon fan has come under fire after a video of him bringing a kid along while scalping went viral on social media.

Pokemon scalpers are a tale as old as time at this point. If you’ve been in the Pokemon TCG community long enough, you know the pain of missing out on packs you want simply because these people got there first and took the whole lot.

Whether it be casually wiping out an entire shelf or straight-up fighting in front of a vending machine, it shouldn’t be surprising how these pesky individuals continue to stoop to new lows.

Now, however, things have taken a new turn. A video of a Pokemon scalper loading up on cards while bringing a kid along has been making the rounds on social media, and it’s safe to say the community isn’t happy about it.

The viral video came from the TikTok account ‘jamesthescalper’. It shows him walking to the TCG aisle and grabbing booster boxes from multiple shelves, with a kid sitting in his cart.

To make matters worse, this all went down right in front of other shoppers, including a woman and a child, who were browsing and trying to pick out their own packs when he swooped in and took them all.

Naturally, this didn’t sit right with many Pokemon fans online. The backlash was instant, with most upset that a kid was involved.

“Scalpers are now using kids as props while they clear shelves. We have hit a new low in the hobby,” wrote the Pokemon TCG Alerts account on X. Many other fans also showed similar sentiments in the comments.

One person wrote: “I f****ing hate scalpers and even worse, dude is recording himself doing it… Lady was trying to get some for her kid’s birthday my dude. I hope the prices tank and you sit on top of a lot of product.”

“If you’re going to clear the shelf, let those who came before you finish shopping before you swoop in and rob them of options. Or at least ask. Have some decency. We live in a society,” mentioned another.
