Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves revealed the Gen 10 starter Pokemon during the Pokemon 30th anniversary Presents, introducing Grass-type Browt, Fire-type Pombon, and Water-type Gecqua as the next trio of partners for trainers.
The Pokemon Company officially unveiled Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves as the franchise’s tenth generation entries during its anniversary broadcast, confirming that players will once again choose between three elemental starters at the beginning of their journey.
While details about the new region and additional Pokemon are still limited, the Gen 10 starters were shown in full, complete with categories, typings, heights, weights, and Abilities.
All Pokemon Winds and Waves starters
Browt
Type: Grass
Category: Bean Chick Pokemon
Height: 1′ (0.3 m)
Weight: 7.7 lbs. (3.5 kg)
Ability: Overgrow
Browt is the Grass-type starter for Gen 10. Classified as the Bean Chick Pokemon, it stands at just one foot tall and weighs 7.7 pounds. Its design features a small, round body with a sprout-like crest and leaf-shaped eyebrows, reinforcing its plant-based theme.
Like many Grass starters before it, Browt has the Ability Overgrow, which boosts the power of Grass-type moves when its HP drops below one third in battle.
Pombon
Type: Fire
Category: Puppy Pokemon
Height: 1′4″ (0.4 m)
Weight: 14.8 lbs. (6.7 kg)
Ability: Blaze
Pombon serves as the Fire-type starter in Pokemon Winds and Waves. Known as the Puppy Pokemon, it is the tallest and heaviest of the trio at 1 foot 4 inches and 14.8 pounds.
Its fluffy orange coat and compact build give it a canine appearance, while its Blaze Ability increases the strength of its Fire-type attacks when its HP is low.
Gecqua
Type: Water
Category: Water Gecko Pokemon
Height: 1′ (0.3 m)
Weight: 9.5 lbs. (4.3 kg)
Ability: Torrent
Rounding out the trio is Gecqua, the Water-type starter. Categorized as the Water Gecko Pokemon, it measures one foot tall and weighs 9.5 pounds.
The small blue reptile features wide eyes and a sleek body suited to aquatic environments. Its Ability Torrent powers up Water-type moves once its HP falls below a critical threshold.
At the time of writing, The Pokemon Company has not revealed the starter evolutions for Browt, Pombon, or Gecqua. More details about Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves, including the new region and additional Gen 10 Pokemon, are expected in the lead-up to launch.
