A tech-focused streamer just did what no one thought possible: He put himself inside Red Dead Redemption 2.

‘Blurbs’ is a variety Twitch streamer and YouTuber known for turning wild ideas into working tech. Over the past six years, he recreated the Xbox 360 dashboard with Twitch chat support, built a mod where viewers voice NPCs in Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2, and made custom tools for other creators.

His most viral project let his Twitch chat control every voice in RDR2 using a full backend system and custom audio engine. He called it his ‘magnum opus,’ and fans agreed. That mod caught fire online in late 2024 and set a high bar for what’s possible with modding.

But Blurbs just raised that bar again.

Twitch modder pushes Red Dead tech to unbelievable new level

In his latest stream, titled ‘I modded my body into RDR2,’ he appeared to place himself directly into the game.

At one point, he walked up to an NPC at the saloon and shoved him. The NPC stumbled and responded, just like a real interaction. Then, as he stood behind the bar counter, Blurbs showed us 180 degrees behind him.

It was clear he wasn’t just roleplaying. He was in there. No headset, no gloves, no traditional VR tech at all. Just him, inside Red Dead Redemption 2.

Fans quickly flooded the comments with stunned reactions. One viewer wrote, “This is actually f*cking crazy, you’ve done it again,” capturing the disbelief many felt.

Another said, “This is next level for VR streamers,” while others called it “insane tech, with insane potential.” These weren’t just throwaway compliments; viewers were genuinely shocked, seeing it as a breakthrough not just for mods, but for the future of immersive content.

Despite all the buzz, Blurbs has yet to explain how the mod works. Unlike past projects, where he offered full breakdowns, this time he’s stayed silent.

It’s possible he created a custom NPC using face scans and model editing. Alternatively, he might’ve used dialogue and behavioral triggers tied to real-time inputs. Though it’s never been done before, he might be using Script Hook to directly control an NPC via external hardware or software.

Without a technical breakdown, all anyone can do is guess. But one thing is clear: if Blurbs really found a way to insert himself into Red Dead Redemption 2, we’re entering a new chapter for modding and streaming.
