Panasonic is teaming up with Capcom to release a Resident Evil Requiem-themed wearable neck speaker that promises to drag players deeper into the series’ signature horror through immersive surround sound.
Sound design has always played a major role in the Resident Evil series, where identifying threats by noise alone can mean the difference between survival and a game-over screen.
So, with the release of Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, Capcom is aiming to deliver more spine-tingling scares with its special neck speaker.
Resident Evil Requiem is about to get even scarier
According to the official product page, the device delivers four-channel audio and comes with a “Horror Mode” feature that sharpens subtle environmental cues such as footsteps, breathing, and distant groans.
The Biohazard Requiem Edition neck speaker features an apt “bloody red” body, has a dedicated startup melody based on the game, a themed app interface, and special packaging that highlights new protagonist Grace Ashcroft alongside imagery of Raccoon City.
Panasonic also notes the device carries recommended sound quality certification from Capcom’s sound team, so players should be in for a real scare.
Like the rest of Panasonic’s SoundSlayer lineup, the Resident Evil variant features 38mm speakers with 3W output, a high-capacity battery, and stereo audio that can automatically convert into four-channel surround for a wider soundstage.
Currently, the collaboration appears to be limited to Panasonic’s Japanese store, with no international release announced so far, meaning fans outside the region may need to import the device if they want to experience its survival-horror soundscape.
The Resident Evil Requiem neck speaker is scheduled to launch in Japan on February 26, 2026, and is priced at ¥35,200 ($224 USD).
