Resident Evil’s T-Virus is heading to Tokyo, offering fans a rare chance to see one of gaming’s most infamous fictional threats.
According to the official press release, a model sample will be unveiled in Shibuya on February 14 as part of a biotech art showcase designed to bring video game horror a little closer to reality.
For those unfamiliar with the series, the T-Virus is the catalyst behind the outbreaks that devastate Resident Evil’s world. Engineered by the Umbrella Corporation, it mutates humans and animals into hostile creatures and ultimately leads to the destruction of Raccoon City.
The installation is part of an exhibition called THE AUTHENTIC OFFICE, which will temporarily transform a lab and workspace inside Shibuya into an immersive public tech experience that blends science with horror-inspired fiction.

Organized by biotech startup LOM BABY, the showcase centers on a synthetically produced sample inspired by the pathogen that helped define Capcom’s long-running franchise. Despite the unsettling premise, organizers present the display as creative fiction rather than anything resembling a real-world threat.
Running from February 13 to 14, the exhibition will also feature several unusual biotech creations. These include an “energy drink” said to contain wing-growing ingredients based on Pegasus DNA, alongside displays such as “dragon meat” and an artificial alien DNA figure.
The T-Virus showcase isn’t the only thing that has caught the attention of fans, as Capcom has also partnered with Panasonic to release a wearable neck speaker designed to make Resident Evil Requiem even scarier.
Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
