Prepare for the Viltrumite conflict to “ramp up” in Invincible Season 4, because the show is about to introduce the greatest (and most powerful) villain from the comic.
Season 3 ended with the show’s best fight to date: Invincible vs Conquest, a bone-crunching, face-smooshing battle of wills between Earth’s mightiest hero and “Mr 10 Times Worse.”
If you thought that was bad (by bad, I mean amazing), it’s about to get even worse (by worse, I mean better). The next season will likely follow Omni-Man and Allen on their mission in space (no spoilers), we could meet Dinosaurus, and it could even further explore Conquest’s fate.
Notably, it will introduce Thragg – and let’s just say, you should be very afraid.
Thragg is coming in Invincible Season 4
While Robert Kirkman couldn’t reveal who’ll be voicing Thragg in Season 4, the creator did confirm to Deadline that he will appear.
Kirkman said: “Thragg is cast and will be in Season 4. So, I won’t reveal anything other than if you’ve been watching the show since Season 1, you might be like, “Hey, when is there going to be more Viltrumite stuff?”
“I will say that Season 4 has more Viltrumite stuff that you might be wanting. In Season 2, we got the cool Anissa stuff and then Nolan’s story.
“In Season 3, we got Conquest, and Nolan’s story, and stuff going on in space with Allen. In Season 4, it really ramps up. So, the people that are loving that aspect of the show, you will definitely get more of that.”
Without spoilers, here’s a few details about Thragg: he’s the Grand Regent of the Viltrum Empire (the head honcho, basically), he’s considered to be the strongest Viltrumite, and he will play a massive role in the rest of the series, especially if Kirkman gets to adapt the entire story.
“There’s a lot of decisions that were made on Invincible Season 1-3, that were made just in case we get to adapt the entire comic,” he explained.
“So that when we’re going Season 5-6 if we’re fortunate enough to do those, we know the track has been laid, and things have been planned.”
Keep your eyes peeled for a casting announcement, but there’s been a common fan-cast: Jon Bernthal.
