An American tourist has gone viral on TikTok after revealing that you can rent an exoskeleton in China for a super low price.

Content creators going to China and being blown away by technological advances is necessarily a new thing, but it always creates some pretty entertaining clips for the internet to marvel at.

A fine example of that is IShowSpeed’s tour back in April, where he was astounded by a self-driving car that could ‘dance’ alongside him.

Well, now American tourist Christian Grossi has gone viral on TikTok for being able to rent an exoskeleton in Zhangjiajie to help him hike around the national park. The biggest reason for the success? Well, probably the fact it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

American tourist rents exoskeleton for walk and it’s super cheap

The TikToker, who regularly documents his travels, was able to rent an exoskeleton for free, even though it would only usually cost $22. However, if he wanted to buy one, it would cost less than $1000 anyway.

The exoskeleton, which supports running and walking, is fitted with two batteries that can last between eight to 10 hours in total. So, it wouldn’t be like getting a temporary boost either, they can go for large parts of the day.

“Brother, this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” he told the owner in a video that has now racked up close to 33 million views in under three days. “That’s way cheaper than I thought it would be,” he added.

The cost of the rental also shocked plenty of viewers. “They will bring them here soon but it will be $600,000, and you have to look at commercials to make it move,” one joked. “1,000$ a hour to rent it in the USA,” another added.

“For $950 each, I’d totally buy this for parents. They have trouble walking and I can’t assist them both at the same time,” another viewer chimed in.

Others pointed out that exoskeletons aren’t a totally new technology and have been used in other countries, like Australia, to assist workers in demanding jobs. Though, they are always impressive.
