Konami has confirmed a crossover between Silent Hill f and Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake, bringing two of Japan’s most recognizable horror franchises together.

The collaboration will add free costume DLC tied to the crossover, which will likely allow players to kit out Fatal Frame’s protagonist, Mio Amakura, in outfits Hinako Shimizo wears in Silent Hill f.

Koei Tecmo America later teased the crossover on X, writing: “A special collaboration is on the way between two Japanese horror titles. Free collaboration costumes are coming as downloadable content. Stay tuned for more details.”

Silent Hill f x Fatal Frame 2 collab

Alongside the collab news, it was also revealed that Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake will receive a playable demo on March 5, 2026, ahead of its March 12, 202,6 release.

The remake revisits the 2003 survival horror classic, following twins Mio and Mayu Amakura, who become trapped in the haunted Minakami Village after a ritual goes wrong. Players rely on the Camera Obscura to confront hostile spirits, using photography rather than weapons to survive.

Early gameplay has shown off the game’s enhanced visuals, updated character models, refined controls, new difficulty options, and additional quality-of-life improvements designed to preserve the original’s atmosphere.

This isn’t the first time the Fatal Frame series has released collab outfits, as Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water previously featured crossover and bonus costumes, including outfits inspired by earlier Fatal Frame characters and a collaboration costume based on Koei Tecmo’s Atelier Ryza.

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake is scheduled to launch on March 12, 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
