Konatsu Kato, the actress behind Silent Hill f’s protagonist Hinako Shimizu, is currently live-streaming the game on YouTube, stepping back into the nightmare she helped create.
Kato, who provided Hinako’s voice, face scan, and full motion performance, is playing through the game herself in a special broadcast on her official YouTube channel. The stream is currently live, pulling over 3k viewers, and is entirely in Japanese with no subtitles available at the moment.
Despite the language barrier, the broadcast gives fans from around the world a rare chance to see the performer who brought Hinako to life react to the same scenes that defined her character’s descent into horror.
Silent Hill f’s Konatsu Kato plays as Hinako in live stream
Kato’s performance has been a major talking point since launch, with her portrayal praised for its realism and emotional intensity – something we noted in our own glowing review. As we reported at Dexerto, Kato previously said she could feel her sanity almost “slipping” playing as Hinako, blurring the line between actress and character.
Konami has heavily promoted Kato’s involvement in Silent Hill f, highlighting that she didn’t just voice Hinako, but also provided her facial model and motion capture, making her the physical and emotional core of the game.
English-speaking fans have also been commenting in the live chat with praise, calling her out her incredible performance in-game.
Silent Hill f launched on September 25, 2025, as the first mainline Silent Hill set in Japan. Developed by NeoBards Entertainment and written by Higurashi creator Ryukishi07, it follows a young girl in 1960s Japan as she confronts a terrifying supernatural bloom overtaking her town, blending psychological horror with Japanese folklore.
