89-year-old YouTuber Shirley Curry, better known as Skyrim Grandma, has retired from making videos about The Elder Scrolls.
In a YouTube video published on September 29, the popular creator explained that she was tired of playing Skyrim and just wasn’t having fun anymore.
“This has come to this because I’ll soon be 90 years old. Every time I come up with a new idea for how to play a story in Skyrim… I may make one or two or three with a new character and then I’m bored again. So that’s why I’m going to stop uploading anything to do with Skyrim.”
Skyrim Grandma retires once again
Curry, who had been making Skyrim content for around 15 years, had previously “retired” around this time last year, but shortly returned to making videos anyway.
Earlier this summer, she jumped into trying Oblivion Remastered, but had numerous criticisms with the RPG. As such, with Elder Scrolls VI nowhere to be found, she’s once again moving on.
“I’m tired, I’m not having any fun with it anymore, probably because of all the little kids on there,” she said, taking issue with the lack of feedback she’s been receiving. “All I get is, ‘Hi, grandma. I love you, grandma.’ That isn’t what I was spending my time making and uploading videos for.”
Unfortunately, with no sign yet that Bethesda has any plans to hurry up and release Elder Scrolls 6, this may be the last we hear from Curry for a while.
The response from the community was filled with sadness.
“The end of an era. Looking forward to your next upload,” the official YouTube account commented.
“Saddest day for all of the Skyrim community,” another said.
