While it may sound ridiculous to ask for balance changes to defibrillators of all things, some Battlefield 6 players believe the tool is a little too good for more reasons than it just being able to revive.

The Battlefield series has been subject to a number of very bizarre metas. Anyone who was around to experience BF3’s slug shotgun meta with an 8x scope would know that the most overpowered strats in BF are often the most ridiculous ones.

And, though clips of someone running through an entire team with defibs are pretty goofy to watch, there’s a genuine case to be made for this weapon being way too good in the beta.

Defibrillators being able to kill other players isn’t a new feature for the series, nor is it the only tool that can do the job. The engineer’s torch is an equally goofy way to kill a player, though it’s a lot slower than defibs.

Battlefield 6 player Balance pointed out that reviving in BF6 is 2-3 times faster than it is in some prior entries in the series, with you being able to spam revives without almost any break in between uses and unlimited ammo.

Hell, spamming defibs like this is even faster than standard melee attacks. That’s the other issue with these things, they’re lethal.

Defib hits are a straight up one-shot, and streamers like Lirik have spent literal hours running through teams with them. Lirik himself has asked for these not to get nerfed so he can keep getting clips in the final version of the game.

However, the issue is how strong these are in comparison to standard melee. Knife slashes do a measly 35 damage from the front and are slower than using defibs, making normal melee weapons genuinely obsolete. If you’re trying to smash some heads, your best bet is to run medic and unrevive people.

And, while knife kills can one-shot from behind (and give you a pair of coveted dog tags), the animation takes forever in comparison to just zapping someone with your pads.
