Sony has announced new price points for the PlayStation 5 lineup in the United States, raising the cost of its standard and digital models while updating the price of the PS5 Pro.
The updated pricing sets the standard PlayStation 5 with disc drive at $549.99 and the PS5 Digital Edition at $499.99. The PS5 Pro, which launched in late 2024, now officially lists at $749.99 making it the most expensive console on the market.
The PlayStation 5 was first released in November 2020 at $499 for the disc model and $399 for the Digital Edition. This marks a $50 increase on both core versions since launch.
The PS5 Pro, introduced as a higher-end option designed to support advanced performance and display features, originally debuted at a higher-tier price and remains the premium choice within the range.
The increase comes as the company continues to position the PS5 Pro as its flagship model and maintains supply for both standard editions, which remain widely available at major U.S. retailers.
PlayStation 5 accessories are unaffected by the price increase, meaning items like the PS5 disc drive remain at their existing $79 value.
