Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled a new 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor designed to bring the PS5 experience to the desktop, complete with an integrated DualSense controller charging hook. The monitor will launch in 2026 across the U.S. and Japan.
The announcement follows Sony’s continued expansion of its PlayStation ecosystem beyond the living room. Since the PS5’s release, the company has leaned into flexibility, from big-screen setups to remote play via PlayStation Portal. The new display caters to players who prefer compact, personal gaming spaces.
The 27-inch Gaming Monitor pairs with the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers that were announced back in September, offering a coordinated desktop setup for immersive visuals and audio. Both products were developed specifically for PS5 and PS5 Pro, aiming to replicate the console experience in smaller spaces.
The monitor features a QHD IPS display with 1440p resolution, HDR support with automatic tone mapping on PS5 consoles, and variable refresh rate support. It runs at up to 120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro, and up to 240Hz on compatible PC and Mac devices.
What sets it apart from other monitors, however, is a built-in charging hook for DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, letting players charge their gamepads directly from the monitor.
Connectivity and compatibility
The PlayStation Gaming Monitor supports VESA mounting and includes multiple connectivity options:
- Two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 input
- Two USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port
- Built-in stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio output
Sony’s new monitor doesn’t have a price yet, so it’s hard to say how much the display will cost once it reaches shelves in 2026.
