Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026, and we’ll finally get to know how Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has been dealing with the world forgetting who he was.
While we still don’t know too much about the story of this film, the cast is starting to become a bit clearer. To that end, we’re here to gather all the big confirmed and reported members of this production that will help lead us into Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
We’ll keep updating this page as we learn more about the cast and characters of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but for now, let us know what you’re hoping for in this much-anticipated entry in the MCU!
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Cast and Characters: Who's Confirmed for the MCU Sequel?
Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man
Tom Holland will once again star as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but perhaps at the lowest we’ve ever seen him. Well, maybe the second lowest, as turning to dust in Tony Stark’s arms sounds pretty awful.
Thanks to a spell Doctor Strange had to cast to cause the world to forget Peter Parker, Holland’s character has never been more alone. As if that isn’t bad enough, he’s also still mourning the death of Aunt May.
Holland himself has talked about the upcoming film, saying it “really feels like we aren't making the fourth movie. We're making the first movie in the chapter. This is a rebirth. This is something completely new."
Hopefully, it stops being so painful, as Holland was recently rushed to the hospital and suffered a “mild concussion” while filming a stunt on Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Hey, no one said being a superhero was easy!
Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones
We all know and love that Zendaya and Holland are engaged in real life, but things aren’t so great for the pair in the MCU. At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Dr. Strange’s spell made the world forget Peter Parker, and that included his love interest, MJ.
Hopefully, these two hearts can reconnect in Brand New Day! When they last saw each other in No Way Home, MJ may have felt something when Parker was trying to hold back tears while saying goodbye at the shop where she worked, hinting that there may be a part of her that still remembers the love they felt for each other.
Jacob Batalon as Ned
Jacob Batalon is Peter Parker’s closest friend, Ned; unfortunately, the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day also resulted in Ned forgetting who Peter Parker is too.
Good friendships can last through most things, and we hope these two can get back to being best friends and laughing together. However, could the lack of Ned in Peter’s life, at least for the moment, lead our hero to finding a new friend? Perhaps one in the Osborn family?
Sadie Sink
Via Deadline, Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink has reportedly been cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, although it has yet to be confirmed who she will be playing. However, that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill, and Deadline speculates that Sink will play either X-Men character Jean Grey or “another beloved redheaded Spider-Man character.”
The latter suggestion clearly hints at Mary Jane Watson, but this Spidey series already has its ‘MJ’ in Zendaya, even though she plays Michelle Jones-Watson. Either way, Sink looks to be playing a “significant” role in this fourth MCU Spidey film, so we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out who her character is.
Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / The Punisher
Via THR, Jon Bernthal has once again been cast as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, but this time it will be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He may have to be a little less violent, as this film is PG-13, but his presence will still no doubt be felt.
The last time we saw the Punisher was in Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again, where he was Kingpin’s prisoner at Red Hook. However, he was able to grab a guard and break his arm to escape, seemingly setting him up to appear in not only Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but also his own Guardians of the Galaxy-style Marvel special.
Could we also see Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in Spider-Man: Brand New Day after he appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home? Only time will tell!
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Hulk
Via THR, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner / The Hulk will be part of the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, giving us one of those MCU crossovers we love so much.
The last time we saw Banner was in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, when he returned to Earth and introduced his son, Skaar, to his cousin, Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk, and even Matt Murdock / Daredevil.
Liza Colón-Zayas
Via Deadline, The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas has reportedly been cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans are speculating that this could be a great sign that we will be getting Miles Morales in this film, and that Colón-Zayas will be playing Miles’ mother, Rio Morales. Colón-Zayas is of Puerto Rican descent and grew up in New York, just like Rio.
However, she could just be another mother-like figure for Peter Parker, as he tragically lost Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln / Tombstone
Via Deadline, Marvin Jones III is reportedly set to play Lonnie Lincoln, aka Tombstone. Fans may find this casting rings a bell, because Jones was already the voice of Tombstone in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Tombstone first made his debut in Marvel Comics’ Web of Spider-Man #36 in March 1988, and he’s been a thorn in Spidey’s side for a long time. According to Marvel’s website, he’s a threat either alone or as part of an organized crime syndicate or supervillain team, and he has close ties to people very close to Peter Parker.
Michael Mando as Scorpion
Via THR, Michael Mando is set to reprise his role as Mac Gargan / Scorpion, the Spidey villain who first appeared in the MCU in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. The last place we saw Mando’s Scorpion was in jail, where he was talking to Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes / Vulture about Spidey’s real identity.
With the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it seems any knowledge of Spider-Man being Peter Parker may have been erased, but that doesn’t mean Scorpion can’t still wreak some havoc. And while there haven’t been any concrete reports, Mando’s casting in Spider-Man: Brand New Day could hint at Keaton’s return as well!
Melanie Scrofano
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ and Wynonna Earp’s Melanie Scrofano revealed via Instagram that she has been cast in an undisclosed role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Will Tobey Maguire and/or Andrew Garfield Be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
While we all loved seeing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield return as their versions of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home to team up with Tom Holland's Spidey, the end of the film saw everyone being sent back to their own universe. Now, will we get some flashbacks or a potential surprise appearance by these two? Never say never, but keep your expectations in check!
