Tom Holland has offered fans an update on his recovery following the head injury he sustained while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Writing on Instagram, the web-slinging hero addressed his recent appearance at a gala for The Brothers Trust, a non-proft run by Holland's family, on the same evening as his injury — and his decision to ultimately leave the event early to further recouperate.
"What a night! Another huge success," Holland wrote of the charity gala. "I'm sorry I had to leave early but I'm feeling better and on the mend. A huge thanks to my Dad for taking over after I left. The show got considerably funnier 😂"
UK newspaper The Sun previously reported that Holland had attended the event, alongside partner Zendaya and fellow Spider-Man co-star Jacob Batalon, just hours after sustaining his on-set injury. Holland then left the gala early "after feeling ill."
Details of Holland's accident have not been publicly confirmed, but The Sun stated that the actor had "cracked his head in a fall" resulting in a mild concussion while filming a stunt on set at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England. An ambulance was then called so the actor could undergo further checks at a local hospital.
Sony Pictures subsequently suspended filming for a week to allow Holland time to recover, and confirmed the delay would not impact the movie's current release date of July 31, 2026. Holland recently described the upcoming film as the "first movie in the next chapter" of his web-slinging film series — though he isn't planning to simply churn out another trilogy over the next couple of years.
