Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 has premiered on Netflix, with 456 real-life players vying to be the sole winner of a whopping $4.56 million. So you can stay up to date, we’ve broken down the results of each game, including the winners and eliminations so far.

Much like Squid Game, the reality TV spinoff sees contestants battle it out in a series of high-stakes children’s games (of course, in this version, no one actually dies – an ink squib is activated instead).

In Season 2, we’ll see the real-life versions of games like Mingle, the Six-Legged Pentathlon, and Marbles, but there are also some new challenges to enjoy (Slides and Ladders looks like an intense update on the classic board game) and tests in between the main rounds.

Below, we’ve broken down the results of each game and test, including how many players are sent home and who’s left in the running for the cash prize. Warning: spoilers ahead!

Game 1: The Count

  • Players eliminated: 227
  • Players remaining: 229

The Count is the first game, offering up a new way to eliminate half of the player pool without another round of Red Light, Green Light. All 456 contestants are divided into two groups – O’s and X’s – and placed into separate rooms, but only one side will survive.

Twin brothers Player 431 (Raul) and Player 432 (Jacob) volunteer as captains, initially not knowing they’ll be separated. Each room is then asked to work together to estimate when 456 seconds have passed and press a button at that exact moment.

The room that comes closest to the correct time will remain in the game, while the other will be eliminated. Each group chose a leader to manage the countdown:

  • O’s: led by Player 205 (Ida), a nurse who relies on her medical timing instincts
  • X’s: led by Player 89 (Michael), a musician with a strong sense of rhythm

The results are as follows:

  • Winning team: X’s – 2 seconds out
  • Eliminated team: O’s – 12 seconds out

However, because Player 431 volunteered, he’s granted immunity and allowed to remain in the game.

Cash prize amount after Game 1: $2.27 million

Test 1

  • Players eliminated: 3
  • Players remaining: 226

There’s a catch to Player 431’s survival: he has to secretly eliminate three players within one hour – or both twins will be sent home. To eliminate someone, he has to approach them, say their number, and tell them, “Good luck in the game.”

They end up selecting the following contestants to eliminate:

  • Jackie (Player 107)
  • Bryce (Player 285)
  • Blake (Player 286)

Since Player 431 completes the mission successfully, the brothers get to continue in the game.

Cash prize amount after Test 1: $2.3 million

Game 2: Six-Legged Pentathlon

  • Players eliminated: 113
  • Players remaining: 113

The second challenge, Six-Legged Pentathlon, takes inspiration from the Squid Game Season 3 montage. Players are divided into groups of 10 (with two smaller groups of eight to balance numbers).

Each large group is then split into two competing sub-teams of five (or four) players, with the iconic Pink Guards tying the team members’ legs together to form six-legged units. Each team must complete a relay-style race around a track, stopping at every checkpoint for one contestant to finish a mini-game.

They must successfully complete the game before moving to the next checkpoint. The mini-challenges are as follows: Ball in a Cup, Flying Stone, Gonggi, House of Cards, and Jegi.

The difference to the Netflix series is that there’s no timer. Instead, the first team to complete all five mini-games and reach the finish line advances, while the losing team is immediately eliminated. This again cuts the contestant pool by half.

Cash prize amount after Game 2: $3.43 million

Test 2

  • Players eliminated: 5
  • Players remaining: 107

In Test 2, the players who were slowest in their mini-games must make their way to the stage. They are as follows:

  • Ball in a Cup – Player 180 (Jorell)
  • Flying Stone – Player 89 (Michael)
  • Gonggi – Player 40 (Erik)
  • House of Cards – Player 344 (Chris)
  • Jegi – Player 289 (Sian)

The remaining contestants are presented with two buttons: if they wish to save them, they must press “O”, if they wish to eliminate them, they’ll press “X”. The majority vote (by a long shot) is to eliminate them, meaning all five are sent home.

Following this test, the Pink Guards reveal that out of 226 players after the first challenge, 119 have been eliminated. But half of the players (113) from Game 2 and five more from this test amounts to 118, meaning one contestant isn’t accounted for.

However, as we found out in Season 1, the cast have the option to self-eliminate off screen, so even though it’s not shown or confirmed, we can assume this occurred with one player.

Cash prize amount after Test 2: $3.49 million

Game 3: Catch

  • Players eliminated: 33
  • Players remaining: 74

For the third round, contestants face a team-based elimination game called Catch. Players must first divide themselves evenly into four color groups – purple, yellow, pink, and blue – each containing 26 players.

However, with 107 players in total, the math doesn’t quite add up. Three contestants – Player 82 (Heath), Player 111 (August), and Player 118 (Jonti) – decide to take a gamble by not joining any team.

Their risk earns them a pass to the next round without playing, but with one crucial condition: they must each select another player to compete on their behalf. If their chosen player is eliminated, they will also be sent home.

Their picks are as follows:

  • Player 82 (Heath) chooses Player 383 (Emily)
  • Player 111 (August) chooses Player 437 (Karim)
  • Player 118 (Jonti) chooses Player 152 (Viper)

The game takes place on a court with a circle in the center and four dotted lines extending from each corner – one for each team color. A designated thrower stands in the middle and throws the ball to a player at the front of one of the lines.

If the ball is caught, the catcher survives, and the catcher becomes the next thrower. If the ball is dropped, both the catcher and thrower are immediately eliminated.

Teams have an allotted time to decide the order of their players. The game continues until 16 balls have been dropped, and any remaining players automatically advance once the final ball drops.

Players who are eliminated in Catch include:

  • Player 97 (Sean)
  • Player 351 (Debby)
  • Player 272 (Ryan)
  • Player 264 (Ram)
  • Player 100 (Mark)
  • Player 443 (Julissa)
  • Player 167 (Payton)
  • Player 69 (Joan)
  • Player 233 (Donna)
  • Player 145 (Bob)
  • Player 95 (Carol)
  • Player 245 (Edwina)
  • Player 48 (Reagan)
  • Player 198 (Mike)
  • Player 416 (Karen)
  • Player 210 (Gigi)
  • Player 330 (Al)
  • Player 423 (Beth)
  • Player 57 (ShaMere)
  • Player 326 (Jason)
  • Player 058 (Jesse)
  • Player 165 (Zach)
  • Player 152 (Viper)
  • Player 390 (Dalton)
  • Player 118 (Jonti) – as he chose Player 152
  • Player 187 (Justin)
  • Player 229 (Alicia)
  • Player 312 (Kendra)
  • Player 71 (Olga)
  • Player 84 (Bridget)
  • Player 223 (Manfred)
  • Player 112 (Indy Lee)
  • Player 455 (Isaac)

Cash prize amount after Game 3: $3.82 million

Test 3

  • Players eliminated: 2
  • Players remaining: 72

For this test, a Russian doll is placed in the dorm, with the instruction not to touch it until they hear it sing. Just one person can open it first, and inside, there’s either a trick, a treat, or nothing at all. They must then choose the next player to pass it to. The order and outcomes are as follows:

  • Player 153 (Austin): Disadvantage in the next game
  • Player 417 (Greg): Nothing
  • Player 410 (Isaiah): A cake
  • Player 75 (Natalie): 10 coins
  • Player 303 (Chelly): Immunity until the end of the next game

Natalie’s 10 coins must be used on the vending machine, but there’s a cruel twist: she has to spend it on an elimination, choosing one player to send home. She selects Player 80 (Ashley), who is immediately eliminated.

Finally, Player 98 (Matthew) opens the last doll, which forces him to nominate another contestant to be up for elimination. The rest of the group must then vote to decide who stays. Player 98 chooses Player 431 (Raul) as his opponent.

Voting results:

  • Player 98: 55 votes – survives
  • Player 431: 16 votes – eliminated

Cash prize amount after Test 3: $3.84 million

Game 4: Mingle

  • Players eliminated: 30
  • Players remaining: 42

If you watched Squid Game Season 3, you’ll know that Mingle is a fast-paced social test that puts both communication, friendships, and quick thinking to the test. Players stand on a moving merry-go-round, and when the music stops, they’re given a specific number.

They must then form a group matching that number and run into one of the numbered rooms before the timer runs out. Anyone who joins a group with the wrong number or fails to find a group in time is immediately eliminated.

  • Player 355 (Nick)
  • Player 294 (Christopher)
  • Player 352 (Samantha)
  • Player 172 (Leon)
  • Player 161 (Steven)

In Mingle, we’re shown a total of 27 eliminations, but only 42 players move to the next stage. This means three eliminations were either not shown on screen or the players left of their own accord.

Once Mingle is up, the 42 players remaining include:

  • Player 86

  • Player 98
  • Player 203
